EipponCell® HPMC K 100 is commonly employed as the primary dispersant during the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production process. As the viscosity increases and the hydroxypropyl content decreases, the dispersion ability weakens, while the glue retention ability strengthens, leading to an increase in the average particle size and apparent density of the PVC resin. By adjusting the concentration of HPMC, its adhesive retention ability can be enhanced, resulting in a reduction in the average particle size of the resin. Additionally, when used in combination with polyvinyl alcohol, HPMC can effectively improve the particle characteristics of the resin, resulting in PVC resin with desirable properties such as good particle shape, particle size distribution, and concentrated porosity.
